Charlie Kirk 1993-2025

The Torch Has Fallen

I'm sitting here thinking about everything that happened this past week, and my heart aches that this tragedy struck Charlie Kirk and not me. I keep wondering—why is my voice so quiet? Why did he have to pay the ultimate price for his faith? Charlie was taken not because of his politics, but because he lived for Jesus. He was a man who put God first, his family second, and his love for the Constitution third. Politics don’t matter here—God sees us all as equal, and Charlie lived that truth with his whole heart. If he didn’t care deeply about people, why would he put himself in danger?

Charlie had a special gift: salvation, eternal life, and a real relationship with Jesus. Evil thought it could silence him, stop his message from reaching others. But God’s got a bigger plan. No good comes from Charlie being shot, but his message is going to shine even brighter now because of this. It’s a wake-up call for me to be bolder about my faith in Jesus. Charlie was a warrior for Christ. Some Christians are saying this means war, that we need to fight back. But I think the real fight is being fearless in our faith and loving everyone, no matter who they are.

I believe Charlie’s death happened because a lost young man was fighting Satan and didn’t win that battle. Our battle isn’t against people—it’s against evil itself. If we, as a nation, focus on loving God, our families, and our neighbors, politics wouldn’t tear us apart. The problem is when people confuse their politics for their faith, politics have no part of Salvation. I know there are others like me, ready to step up and be open about our faith so people can ask questions—no matter their reasons—and that’s how truth spreads. Not by telling people they’re not enough.

The best way to honor God is to pick up the torch Charlie carried and let God’s light keep shining in the dark. I’m so thankful for Charlie Kirk’s courage and his passion for showing the world who Jesus is. I’m praying for his family, knowing only God can heal this kind of pain. I hope his kids know what an amazing, selfless man of God he was. Let’s never forget his sacrifice or his testimony, and may his work keep spreading light in the darkness.
